Do it yourself, change the side mirror on your Chevy Cobalt, the model manufactured between the years 2005 and 2010. You will be able to replace the broken mirror on your car very simply, in less than 20 minutes, if you follow the simple steps below. You will require a flat blade screwdriver and a 10 mm wrench.
You can start by prying out the plastic cover behind the side mirror, located in the top corner of the door panel. You can use a flat blade screwdriver, as you can see in the image below.
Behind that cover, you will notice three nuts that actually secure the mirror onto the door frame (see image below). They can be removed using a 10 mm wrench. You can use a socket only for the two nuts on top. You will not have that much space to loosen the one inside the door panel, so use the wrench and make sure you don’t drop the nut into the panel.
After you remove those nuts, you will be able to pull out the old mirror. Install the new one reversing the simple steps above. Insert it into the door frame first, then secure it with the nuts and in the end, place back the plastic cover. This is all you need to do, if you plan to remove and replace a broken side mirror on your Chevy Cobalt, the model made between the years 2005 and 2010.
