Do it yourself, change the side marker light on your Nissan Maxima, made between the years 2000 and 2003. You will need a 10 mm wrench for this replacement, a flat headed screwdriver and about 25 minutes.
To be able to access the side marker light, you will have to remove the headlight assembly first. So, open the hood of your car and locate the two bolts that hold the headlight (you can see their position in the next image). You can easily remove them using a 10 mm wrench or a socket.
After you do it, you can detach the headlight. Pull it out and unplug the electrical harnesses behind it. This will give you access to the side marker light. You have to reach through the front bumper and press the metal bracket shown in the small picture below, in order to release the assembly.
Next, disconnect the electrical harness, or service the bulb by twisting its socket counterclockwise. In the end, you just have to reinstall everything back correctly. Replace the side marker, connect its harness back and reinstall it into the bumper with the side next to the wheel first and then by pushing it on the side where it has that metal bracket. Reinstall the headlight and you are ready to go. This is all you have to do, if you need to change the side marker light on your Nissan Maxima, produced between the years 2000 and 2003.
