In order to change the right wing mirror on a Nissan Altima 2000 you need a small flat screwdriver and a 10 mm socket wrench. The repair takes for about 20 minutes and to get it done, you have to follow the simple steps below.
The first step is to carefully remove the plastic part on the door using the flat screwdriver. You might also want to use a rag and fold it upon the screwdriver, to protect the paint from scratches as you take off the plastic. You have to insert carefully the screwdriver between the plastic part and the metal on the door and push gently towards you until the three small pins on the plastic part detach.
After you have removed the plastic part you will notice three small bolts that are holding the mirror in place and the electrical connection. You just have to remove the connector by pressing the small button/tab on it and unscrew the three nuts using the 10 mm socket wrench.
Be careful as you mount everything back into its place, over tightening the holding bolts might break your mirror. You just have to tighten them nice and firmly. This is all that it takes to install or replace the side mirror on a Nissan Altima 2000.
