Do it yourself, change the master window switch on your Volkswagen Passat, made in the years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. You will need a flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver. The replacement process is pretty simple and it will not take you more than 15 minutes. You will start after you open the driver’s door, by prying out a small plastic part located inside the door pull, as you can see in the picture below. Use a flat blade screwdriver or “squeeze” it a little bit by hand and pull it out. After you remove it, grab the door pull from the side to the exterior of the door and pull it up firmly. It should come out by hand, but if you find it easier, you can use the screwdriver. In the end, unplug the harness beneath the assembly, that powers up the module and the buttons. This module can be separated from the bezel by removing the three Phillips screws that hold it. Separate it, then replace it with a new one. Finish the repair by inserting the door pull inside the door panel and by installing the small plastic part inside it. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and replace the master window switch on your Volkswagen Passat, the model manufactured between the years 2001 and 2005.
