Do it yourself, change the master window switch on your Oldsmobile Intrigue, the model produced in the years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Very often these switches can get shorted out by getting wet or for some other reasons. The only tool you’ll need to make this replacement is a flat blade screwdriver. You should be able to do it in less than 10 minutes, because the procedure is very simple.
After you open the front door, on the driver’s side, you will start by prying out the window switch using your fingers, or helped by a flat headed screwdriver. If you use the tool, you can wrap its tip with a soft rag, in order to protect the plastics on the door. You should lift up the switch from its left side, to the exterior of the door, as you can see in the image below.
After you detach it, you will have to disconnect the three harnesses beneath it, shown in the next picture. They power the module and all the buttons.
By unplugging them, you will be able to detach the window switch, but in most cases, it is necessary to separate its bezel from the modules. To do it, use the flat headed screwdriver and simply pry the modules out, replace them, reconnect the harnesses and reinstall the new window switch into the door panel. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and replace the master window switch on your Oldsmobile Intrigue, produced between 1998 and 2002.
