Do it yourself, replace the headlight bulb on your VW Jetta manufactured in the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. The replacement is very simple and you can do it without using tools, in about 5 minutes.
After you open the driver’s door and pop up the hood of your car, go to the headlight and remove the plastic cover shown in the image below. You can do it very simply using your hand and unscrewing in a counterclockwise direction.
Removing this plastic shielding on the back of the head light housing will give you access to the light bulb. You can service it by turning its socket counterclockwise (see the picture below).
Be advised not to touch the glass part of the replacement bulb with your fingers. It is well known that it can damage or shorter the life of the bulb. At this moment your repair is almost done. You just have to put everything back correctly. Make sure you align the bulb on the headlight housing and turn its socket clockwise in order to secure it. Then tighten the plastic shielding and this is it. This is all you have to do, in order to replace the headlight bulb on your VW Jetta made between the years 2005 and 2010.
