DIY, change the headlight assembly on your Lincoln Town Car, the model made between 1998 and 2002. There are no tools needed to make this repair, only a pair of pliers in some cases. The replacement should not take you more than 20 minutes.
First, open the hood and locate the harness of the headlight you wish to replace, that should look like the one marked with the blue arrow in the image below. You can disconnect it by hand.
Then you can remove the three metal tabs that secure the headlight assembly, as seen in the picture below. You should be able to remove them by hand, but if you find it difficult, you might consider using a pair of pliers.
After that, you can pull out the assembly from the car. In order to service the four light bulbs, you just have to twist their sockets counterclockwise. Make the desired repairs and install a new headlight. Make sure you insert it into the body of the car, secure it with those metal tabs and reconnect that electrical harness. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and replace the headlight assembly on your Lincoln Town Car, the model produced between the years 1998 and 2002.
