DIY, change the headlight assembly on your Hyundai Santa Fe manufactured in the years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006. You will need a 10 mm socket wrench for this repair and about 15 minutes.
In the beginning, open the hood of your car. There are three bolts holding the headlight assembly that you will have to remove. You can see their exact position in the image below.
After you do it, using the 10 mm socket wrench, you can remove the headlight assembly. At this point, you will notice two electrical harnesses, marked in the next image. You can disconnect them by pressing their safety plastic clips. If they cause you problems somehow, you can use a flat blade screwdriver to remove them.
If you have to service the light bulbs, there is no need to detach the headlight, because you can access them from behind. Turn their sockets counterclockwise and pull the bulbs out, making sure you do not touch the glass part of the new bulb. To finish your repair, you have to reinstall everything back correctly. Make sure you have reconnected the harnesses, align the headlight in its place, tighten the three screws and this is it.
