Do it yourself, change the glass of the side mirror on your Chevrolet Aveo, the model manufactured in the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. You might consider replacing the glass of your mirror if it’s broken or for some other personal reason. The replacement is very simple and if you follow the steps and tips below, you can do it in less than 5 minutes, without any tools.
In the beginning, you must remove the old glass from its support on the mirror. You can press on it on the corner to the interior of the car and then insert your fingers behind and pry it out, as you can see in the image below. We strongly recommend you to use hand gloves or a screwdriver to protect your hands. In most of the cases, the glass is broken and it has sharp edges, so it’s better to be careful when you maneuver it.
After you detach the glass, you will have to unplug the two wires behind it, to be able to remove it completely (see picture below). They are used for heating and defrosting the mirror, so you will have to plug them back to the new glass.
So, reconnect the wires to the replacement glass, align it onto the plastic support on the mirror and press on it, in order to secure it there. These are the simple steps you need to follow, if you wish to quickly and easily remove and replace the glass of the side mirror on your Chevrolet Aveo, the model made between 2005 and 2011.
