DIY, change the front door speaker on your Dodge Ram made in the years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 or 2008. For this repair you will require a 10 mm socket wrench, a Phillips screwdriver and about 30 minutes of your time.
First of all, open the front door and start the repair by removing the door handle. It is held by a 10 mm bolt, shown in the picture below, that you can remove using the socket wrench.
Behind the door handle there is a Phillips bolt, that you will have to unscrew using the Phillips screwdriver. You will also have to remove three other Phillips screws located on the door panel, one on the upper side and two at the bottom, marked with red circles in the image below.
After you complete these steps, you can remove the door panel. Lift it up firmly in order to release it and then unplug the two harnesses of the window switch behind it, indicated below.
At this point, you can remove the four Phillips screws that hold the front door speaker (we marked their position below) and unplug the harness behind it.
You will be able to detach the old speaker and install a new one. To do that, you just have to reverse the repair process described above. First of all plug back the harness on the new speaker and secure it in place with its screws. Connect back the two harnesses on the door panel, align up its tabs and slide it into place. Tighten all the screws and reinstall the door handle. These are the steps you need to follow, in order to remove the front door speaker on your Dodge Ram manufactured between the years 2002 and 2008.
