DIY, change the blower motor on your Chrysler PT Cruiser, the model made between the years 2001 and 2005. The replacement requires a flat headed screwdriver and a 7 mm socket wrench. Because this is a simple replacement, you should be able to make it in less than 20 minutes.
In order to access the blower motor on this car, you will have to get beneath the glove box. You can start the repair by removing two pins similar to the one shown in the image below. They secure a trim that covers the blower motor and the mechanisms beneath the glove box. They can be removed using the tip of a regular screwdriver.
After you take the cover aside, you can go to the blower motor and remove the electrical connector marked with the blue arrow in the picture below. Be careful, it has a small locking tab that must be pushed out. Then you should remove the four 7 mm bolts that secure the blower motor, marked below with the red colour.
Now, you can just pull out the blower motor and install the replacement one. Reinstalling is easy. You have to secure the new blower motor with the bolts, reconnect its electrical harness and place back the cover beneath the glove box. This is all you need to do, if you have to replace the blower motor on your Chrysler PT Cruiser, the model produced between the years 2001 and 2005.
