Do it yourself, change the back light assembly on a Honda Odyssey made in year 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 North America model. You will need a flat screwdriver for this repair, a 10 mm socket wrench and about 30 minutes of your time.
Original code HO2801163 and 34151 SHJ A01, aftermarket code DEPO: 317-1330R-AS , TYC: 17-5233-00 this is the model without facelift manufactured beginning with 2008.
First of all, you need to open the back door of your car and look after a plastic part that covers the tail light assembly. It should look like the one in the picture below. You have to pry out this plastic piece to get to the assembly.
After that, you will have to remove the four bolt nuts that hold the tail light assembly in place. You will have to do it, using the 10 mm screwdriver. You should also remove a small white plastic safety, all shown in the next image.
Be careful, because removing the nuts on the inside might be tricky, the space is very tight. The last step before removing the tail light assembly is disconnecting the two electrical harnesses. If you just need to replace a light bulb, you just have to rotate its socket counterclockwise. You will not need to detach the whole assembly. After you finish all the repairs, make sure you put everything back together as it should and you are done. This is all you need to do, in order to change the back light assembly on a Honda Odyssey 2005.
