DIY, change the air filter on your Toyota Rav4, the model produced between the years 2006 and 2012. You will not need tools to do this simple task, that will probably take about 10 minutes of your time, if you follow the simple steps below.
In the beginning, open the hood of your car and look for the air intake box, shown in the next picture, that is located behind the battery of your car, on the driver’s side. This box contains the air filter. You will have to remove two clamps that hold it in place, marked with red arrows in the image below.
After you remove them, you will be able to lift up the cover of the air intake box. This will give you access to the air filter, as you can see in the next picture.
At this moment, you can replace the old air filter, but only after you make sure the new one looks the same. Is is better to compare the two filters, just to be sure. In order to finish the repair, just reverse the instructions above. Place the lid back on the filter compartment and secure it with the clamps. That is everything you need to know, if you plan to change the air filter on your Toyota Rav4, manufactured between the years 2006 and 2012.
