Do it yourself, change the air filter on your Subaru Impreza, the model produced from 2011 until now. This replacement is very simple and you will be able to do it in about 5 minutes. You can do it with your bare hands, you will not require tools, only a new, compatible air filter from your auto parts store.
At the beginning, open the hood of the car and locate the air box. It is a black plastic box that you will find on the passenger’s side, behind the head light. This box is the air filter’s compartment. To get access to the filter you just have to remove the two clamps that hold the air box, marked with red arrows in the picture below.
After you remove these clamps, you will be able to open the air box and remove the original air filter, as shown in the next image.
Now is the time to install the replacement filter. Check the compatibility of the new filter before buying it and compare it with the new one, before installing it, just to be sure. To finish the replacement process, follow back the steps shown above. At the end, secure the air box with the two clamps and you are done. These are the steps you need to follow, in order to replace the air filter on your Subaru Impreza manufactured between 2011 and 2016.
