Do it yourself, change the air filter on your KIA Sportage, made between the years 2004 and 2010. This is a simple replacement that you can do without tools and much effort, in just a few minutes.
First of all, open the hood of your car and locate the air box. It is located on the right side of the engine, on the driver’s side. This black plastic box contains the air filter you wish to replace. You just have to remove the four metal clips that hold the lid of this box, shown in the picture below.
After you remove them, you will be able to lift up the cover of the air box just enough to get access to the air filter, as shown in the next image.
Now, before installing the new filter, you should clean the air box for debris and dirt. Then you can change the old air filter with the proper replacement. Check the compatibility of the new filter before you acquire it. Place back the lid of the air box on top of the filter and secure it with the four metal clips. This is all you have to do, if you need to replace the air filter on your KIA Sportage, manufactured between the years 2004 and 2010.
