DIY, change the air filter on your Honda Civic, produced between the years 2006 and 2011. This particular replacement is quite simple and you can do it in under 10 minutes. You will not require tools, mechanical knowledge or special preparations, just a new, compatible air filter from your auto parts store.
In the beginning, open the hood of your car and locate the air box. This black plastic box is the air filter’s compartment. You will have to remove the lid of the air box by releasing the three clamps that secure it, marked with red arrows in the picture below.
After you unlatch all the clamps, you will be able to lift up and remove the lid of the air filter box. In this way, you will gain access to the filter, as shown in the image below.
Now is the moment when you can replace the old air filter, but only after you check and make sure the replacement looks the same. You should always compare the old filter with the new one, just to be sure they match. To finish the replacement process, just reverse the steps presented above. Install the filter properly, place the cover of the air box back and secure it with those three clamps. This is all you have to do, if you need to change the air filter on your Honda Civic manufactured between the years 2006 and 2011.
