Do it yourself, change the air filter on your Honda Accord, produced in the years 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 or 2002. You will need a Phillips screwdriver for this particular replacement and if you follow the steps below probably no more than 10 minutes.
At first, you should open the hood of your car and locate the air box, a black plastic box situated behind the headlight, on the passenger’s side. This box contains the air filter. You have to loosen four Phillips bolts that hold the lid of the air box and unplug an intake hose, all marked with arrows in the next image.
After you do it, you will be able to lift up the cover of the air filter box. You should do it from the left side, as shown in the next picture. This should give you enough space to remove the old air filter.
Now you can install the replacement filter, but only after you make sure the new one looks the same. You should compare the filters, just to be sure. To finish the replacement process, plug back the intake hose, place the cover of the air box back and secure it with the four bolts. That is all you have to do, if you need to change the air filter on your Honda Accord, manufactured between the years 1997 and 2002.
