Do it yourself, change the air filter on your Chrysler PT Cruiser. As you probably know, this model was produced by Chrysler between the years 2001 and 2010. Servicing this filter is a very simple task that can be done in less than 5 minutes, using only a flat blade screw driver and a new air filter.
The first step is to open the hood of your car and using a flat blade screw driver, loosen the clamp that hold the intake hose, as seen in the image below. It is located on the driver’s side of the car, behind the air box.
Next, remove the intake hose and the lid of the air box, after you remove the clips that secure it. We marked one of them in the picture below.
The air box contains the air filter, so detaching that lid will give you access to the filter. Remove and replace the old air filter and then clean the debris and dirt you find at the bottom of the air box. Install the new, compatible air filter and secure it with the top cover of the air box and those clips. At the end, plug back the intake hose and tighten its clamp, using the same screw driver. These are the steps you need to follow if you wish to replace by yourself the air filter on Chrysler PT Cruiser.
