DIY, change easily the air cabin filter on your VW Jetta, made between the years 2005 and 2013. You will require a small flat headed screwdriver and a new air cabin filter. You can make the replacement in less than 10 minutes, if you follow the next steps.
In the beginning, open the passenger’s front door and get under the glove box. There is a foam panel there that you must remove, held by two plastic clips (as you can see below). You can do it using a small flat headed screwdriver.
After you do it, you can pull out the foam cover. This will give you access to the compartment that houses the air cabin filter. To be able to remove the filter, you must first detach its small plastic cover. You can do it by pulling the small tab marked in the picture below, towards the right (towards the exterior of the car).
Remove the old filter and prepare to install the replacement one. Just make sure the new one has the same size and shape as the old one. Buy and use only compatible filters. Now, in the end, place the cover back on the filter and then reinstall that foam cover and its clips. This is all you need to know, if you wish to change the air cabin filter on your VW Jetta, produced between the years 2005 and 2013.
